Penny Ffoulkes
Penny Ffoulkes
MSc, BSc, CELTA.
Penny spends her life fluctuating between long hours at the office and ‘great escapes’ in her camper and on her bicycle. Over the past couple of years Penny and her husband have cycled over 6,000 miles of the coast of England, Wales and the east coast of Scotland in aid of British Heart Foundation, improving their fitness and getting to know places in the UK that they had never visited. Ireland is next on the list. Penny loves travelling to remote places to see wildlife and other cultures, she also is passionate about the benefits of mindfulness meditation, especially in terms of blood pressure management, stress reduction, pain management and general well-being. Penny is married with three children, three step-children, two grandchildren and one dog.

When not at work, Natalie studies karate, and is always up for a challenge if it involves danger: wing walking, accelerated freefall skydiving, and a 216 metre bungee jump are all on her CV. Holidays are usually still of the backpacking variety, Costa Rica, Japan, India, Russia and China in recent years. Just in case you think she’s completely mad, she also enjoys the somewhat more sedate hobby of crochet as well as other crafts, it’s great to be in TTA's Homemade Secret Santa with her!
Paula Boughton
Paula Boughton
Paula once coined the TTA phrase “I don’t do tennis” – a stock phrase for when we dislike any sort of physical activity – as a result of her prior indifference towards sport. Fast forward to recent years and Paula is now a fully-fledged marathon runner and you will often find her pounding the pavements around Folkestone and Hythe. Having run several marathons in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity, including the Brighton Marathon, Paula now has her sights firmly set on the London Marathon in 2020 after finally getting a coveted place in the event. Outside of work and her running, Paula enjoys being outdoors, loves the seaside, travelling, camping and spending time with her children and her two cats.

Eve has a very busy family life with three young children and loves to be surrounded by her extended family and large circle of friends whenever possible. During the summer months Eve enjoys camping trips and during the winter she plays in the local netball league, she also cycles and enjoys walking her naughty beagle.

Claire has lived in the Black Forest in Germany where she worked as an Executive Assistant and then Office Manager for a tax consultancy firm. Claire and her family missed home and her family so they returned to the UK. Claire loves being back by the sea and enjoys long walks with her dog along the beach as well as catching up with family and friends. She also enjoys watching good films, reading and visiting new places.

A serial expat having lived in France, Spain and Malta over the years, Kat returned to the UK in 2017 and relocated to the Kent seaside. In her spare time Kat enjoys balancing eating cake with dieting, history with exploring the local area, reading and trips to the theatre. She has also recently discovered the joys of a fancy dress zoom quiz!

Zoe is a big animal lover and has three cats, a dog and two chinchillas. She loves playing sports, particularly hockey, and watching football. She enjoys running and likes to sign up and participate in races throughout the year, her most recent being the Berlin Marathon.

Mike appreciates classic cars and motorcycles. He has recently restored a Honda C90 which his father-in-law bought in 1968 which had been sitting in a barn for over 40 years. He is still not sure if he should be proud or certified! His other passions are music, singing, walking, cycling and reading. Mike is married with three children, four grandchildren and a dog.

Sue’s passion is music, she plays guitar and ukulele and is regularly found performing in the local area. When not performing, she attends music gigs all over the South East every weekend. As a qualified Reiki therapist Sue also has a considerable interest in holistic therapies.
Maggie Shipp
Maggie Shipp
Maggie lived in London until 2015 when she decided to up sticks and move to the seaside, she says it’s the best decision she’s ever made. Her days are filled with working in a great office with great colleagues, fabulous long walks with the dog along the beach and plenty of fresh air, sea and ice cream. She is also an amazing cake maker and is the reigning champion of the Office Bake Off.

Kristina loves travelling and has been to Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and America. In her spare time she spends time with her family and enjoys board games and puzzles, reading and walking along the Royal Military Canal in Hythe or by the coast.
Julie MacMaster
Julie MacMaster
Julie has two sons who are mad about windsurfing so she spends a lot of weekends by a lake or at the beach in the South of England reading and looking after the sandwiches whilst encouraging her sons’ progress. Julie also kayaks and enjoys paddle boarding. She regularly plays badminton and really enjoys films, particularly thrillers.
